My name is Jessica Silverstein (aka "Mrs. S"--that's what my students call me) and I'm a reader, writer, and teacher living in Buffalo, NY. I live with my husband and our cat Willow and I'm quite fond of both of them.
I teach English, theater, and occasionally something else fun like TV writing. I love my students and initially I reconnected with the YA world to find books they would love. Now I read YA because I love it (but I also love sharing books with young people, especially my step-niece--although it will be a while before she's ready for YA so I'm also keeping an eye on great picture books!)
Recently, I've started writing YA fiction as well, with my first WiP nearing completion (I hope!) I'm a proud member of SCBWI and I'm excited about learning and growing as a writer in the years to come.
If you want to contact me for any reason, I'd love to hear from you! My email is readingontheftrain@gmail.com. Thanks for stopping by!
You, like me, have a misleading blog title! I am not from Australia, nor do you ride the F train regularly!! I still love the title.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it used to be true...and by the time I moved away from the city, I was already quite attached to the name! Is your name from Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good Very Bad Day?
DeleteYou got it! And by the time people kept thinking I was from Australia, I was also attached to the name.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I love the title of your blog. Before children, my reading was done mosly on the train to and from work!
ReplyDeleteSorry, that should read 'mostly'!
